Yoga & Karate
Yoga is mainly practiced for its physical and health benefits. DPS Ranchi believes that yoga helps students with mental focus and clarity and thus, keeps them calm and focused. The physical benefits of karate include strength, speed, balance, cardiovascular fitness and flexibility. It is one of the sports that offers overall conditioning of the entire body. Thus, this institution focuses on these two practices in its curriculum in order to give its students a balanced education.
An training session was organized on Martial Art for the students of classes IX on 1st February, 2018 in Delhi Public School, Ranchi. The instructor for the day was Sensei Ranjit Mehta, Black Belt Five Da, Shotokan Karate-Do Federation of India.
Thus, this institution focuses on these two practices in its curriculum in order to give its students a balanced education.
89 students of classes IX attended the session. The motive of the study was to educate the students about Martial Art. This activity was undertaken as a part of project for “British Council International School Award” conducted by British Council.
