Natasha Nangia of DPS Ranchi selected in Times Spark Scholarship - 2018

Natasha Nangia of DPS Ranchi came out with flying colours with her selection in top 300 students for the prestigious scholarship. "Times Spark Scholarship 2018"

This scholarship comes under READ TO LEAD programme. Spark stands for Scholarship Programme for Awareness, Responsibility and Knowledge. This was an endeavour to encourage school students of class XI to XII to develop a reading habit that helps them understand about their society and environment, so that they can go on to write the future.

Such type of scholarship programmes always grooms the skills of the students towards learning and doing something good and innovative as students get an opportunity to bring out their inner self over papers and spread a messege in society. 

The Times of India carried out one article per day across a range of fields like current affairs, science and technology, sports, politics, social issues, global developments etc. Over a span of 3 months from 5th September last year these articles provided multidimensional perspectives to help students get a deeper understanding of various interesting subjects. At the end, there were multiple online tests followed by a personal interview to assess the understanding and perspectives. Natasha Nangia came out with her success after clearing all these and brought name and fame not only to her but also for the school.

On this victorious occasion , the school principal Dr Ram Singh, congratulated Natasha and said that such type of success will boost up the morale of other students of the school and will encourage them to inculcate the habit of reading which will have an cumulative impact on their overall knowledge building. Dr Singh said that it is knowledge that acts as a pillar in a person’s life and with knowledge one can shine high in his life.

The 2nd Prize Winner of National Level Painting Competition, Adrijaa Sarkar

Adrijaa Sarkar of class VIII secured the 2nd position at the National Level Painting Competition, organized by Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Govt. of India, in New Delhi.

The theme of the competition was water conservation.

The painting competition aimed at making the students aware about the need of conserving this precious resource and at the same time to spread the message of this noble cause.

Competing with different talented students of the country Adrijaa has secured the 2nd position in this competition. She was awarded with a cash prize of 25000/-

Principal of the school Dr. Ram Singh congratulated her and said that it is a proud moment for the school that showcasing her amazing talent and creativity Adrijaa has reached to such heights. He also encouraged the students to excel in this field. He also said that more students should take part in competition like this.

Adrijaa thanked the honorable Principal and the teachers for their guidance and support.

iOEL 2nd Level All India Topper, Shally Kumar of DPS Ranchi

Shally Kumar of Delhi Public School, Ranchi has come out with flying colours by coming out as All India Topper in 2nd Level, subsequently, qualifying for 3rd Level exam for International Olympiad of English Language (iOEL) – 2018, conducted by Silver zone Foundation, New Delhi in the month of January 2018.

The iOEL is a test that is conducted to check the competence and knowledge of English. It is held annually both at the National and International levels, based on syllabus prescribed by CBSE/ICSE and the State Boards. It recommends the competition for each and every student who is studying English language as their subject. All the students of class I to XII are eligible to take part in the Olympiad.

On securing the first position and her place in the 3rd Level Shally Kumar was awarded with a cash prize of 50,000/-.

The third level of the Olympiad will be conducted on 7th may, 2018 in Sri Sathya Sri International Centre Auditorium, New Delhi.

The winners of the third level Olympiad will be sent abroad for educational excursion.

The principal, Dr. Ram Singh congratulated the achievers. He said, Language is the road map of a culture. It tells you where its people come from and where they are going.

He also expressed his great delight at the achievement of the students and encouraged Shally to do better in the 3rd level as well.

The students thanked the principal and the teachers for their guidance and support.
