DPS Ranchi Alumnus only Indian to get International award at Kathmandu in Nepal

Ayushi Chowdhury, Alumni of Delhi Public School Ranchi bagged the Best Paper Award in the ‘13th South Asian Economics Students Meet’ at Kathmandu. She is presently doing her graduation in Economics from Ramjas college (New Delhi).


The topic on which she presented her paper was Demystifying Non Tariff Barriers in the South Asia. This programme was organised by Nepal Economics Association in collaboration with Ramjas college (Delhi University) and was supported by World Bank. There were six categories in which students from all the South Asian Countries presented their papers and in this category she is the only Indian to get this prestigious award.


Dr. Ram Singh Principal DPS Ranchi congratulated her and was elated to hear that a student of his school has been honoured with this coveted award.

Ankit Kumar of DPS Ranchi won cash Prize worth 10,000 at National Level Painting Competition

A  painting competition was organised by Ministry of  Power, Govt. of India at different levels starting from school to state to National.

In this competition around  1.2 crore  students altogether had participated at different levels.

Ankit Kumar of class IX A of DPS Ranchi won 1st prize at state level and his painting was selected for National Level where he was awarded a Cash prize worth Rs. 10,000/- by Mr. Pradeep Kumar

Pujari, Secretary, Ministry and Power, Govt. of India at Delhi on 14.12.2016.

In the game competition few years ago, the same child was awarded 1st prize at the National Level in the junior group. Every year Ministry of Power organizes Painting Competition on Energy Conservation  in almost all schools of India to create awareness among students regarding conservation  of Natural Resources Power and Electricity. This is a major step taken by the Govt. of India to make the students conscious about the importance and saving power and other resources. Every year students from DPS Ranchi participate in this competition and they own prizes at school and state level prizes. This step by the govt. of India is not only to create awareness about conserving energy but is a huge platform to home artistic skills of the students so that they can build a career in the field of Art as well.

Mr. Abhay Bhayankar was the Nodal Officer from Jharkhand who took great initiative for this competition to be successful at the stats level.

When spoken to Ankit Kumar about his experience on receiving this prize, he said , ‘It is indeed a matter of pride for me for getting the prize 2nd time in this painting competition at the National Level. I feel honoured that my painting was chosen as the best painting at the state level. “I thank my parents, principal and art teacher of the school for guiding me from time to time and providing me with such platforms where I can present my skill and achieve fame at the National Level.”

Dr. Ram Singh, Principal, DPS Ranchi said that the various kinds of initiatives taken by the govt. of India is worth appreciating as these provides to the students varied opportunities to polish their skills. He also said that particularly. Ankit Kumar of DPS Ranchi has been bringing accolades and laurels to the school in almost  every competition he participates.

It is a matter of pride for DPS Ranchi to have students like him.
