The students of Delhi Public School Ranchi are in Prague (Czech Republic) to participate in World School Debate. The seven students of Class XI who are there to represent their school are Rounak Prakash, Gurmeet Kaur, Rishav Jalan, Aditya Bose, Yash Saraf, Shruti Bora and Suhani.

This is a world wide event for the students of plus 2 level in which 46 teams from all over the world are participating.

In the first round, Team- A comprising Gurmeet Kaur, Raunak Prakash and Rishav Jalan defeated a sensational team from Georgia in a prepared round whose topic of argument was that "The western democracies failed to support the Democratic change in Syria by a timely military intervention" and in an impromptu round defeated Hungary. The team from DPS Ranchi spoke for the motion

At the very same time, in another round, Team B comprising Aditya Bose, Yash Saraf, Shruti Bora and Suhani engaged in a marvellous victory over teams from Greece as well as from Turkey in both the impromptu rounds whose topic of discussion was that "The house wishes to ban fortune telling" and "The house believes that the business should be able to deny to impart service to a customer if the request conflicts with the owners religious beliefs." The logic put forth by the students were highly appreciated by the members of the jury.  Further team A defeated UAE in the 6th round and at the same time team B defeated Italy. They still have a few more rounds to go to prove their mettle. The observer teacher Ms Jaya Prasad reported that both the teams are doing extremely well.

Dr. Ram Singh, the Principal of the school spoke to the students through SKYPE and congratulated them conveying his best wishes for the other rounds. He strongly feels that more competition will enable the students to become smart and confident global citizens.

The students in turn were thankful to the principal of the school for providing them with an excellent opportunity to meet great debaters from all over the world. They were also thankful to him for giving them a chance to get acquainted with one of the most wonderful cities of the world, with its ancient narrow streets and a gorgeous historical charm. They said that they will try their level best to secure the top most position in this Debate Competition and make the school proud.
